The Department of Design at The University of Kansas offers professional, problem-solving, and client-based educational experiences. KU Design offers an undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design (B.F.A.) with areas of concentration in Illustration & Animation, Industrial Design, Photography, and Visual Communication Design and a graduate degree, Master of Arts in Design (M.A.) with areas of concentration in Design Management and Strategy and Interaction and User Experience Design. KU Design faculty are practicing professionals, active in their area of expertise, and passionate about preparing students for a career in the design industry. Students have access to state-of-the-art facilities, technology, and studio spaces on campus. Students are encouraged to apply their classroom experiences through study abroad programs and internship opportunities. Admittance into the major is highly competitive, resulting in a strong academic community and exceptional student work.
