The Office of Admissions offers many opportunities to experience KU through their campus visit days. Guests are able to schedule an academic appointment with the Department of Design during their campus visit registration.
Special Events for Prospective Undergraduate Students
KU Photography Workshop for High School Students
Join this exciting and immersive one-day photography workshop with the KU Photography program. Participants will make their own portrait using large format film in the lighting studio, develop the film, and make a contact print in the darkroom to take home. This free workshop is open to high school photographers of any skill level.
KU Architecture & Design Day
Discover the possibilities of a degree in design at the University of Kansas. KU Architecture and Design faculty and students will share their passion for design in academic information sessions in Architecture, Illustration & Animation, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Photography, and Visual Communication Design. The day includes optional portfolio reviews with our faculty. This event occurs each fall.
KU Design Camp
Each summer, the KU Design Camp offers high school students the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a Design Student at KU.
National Portfolio Days
National Portfolio Days are an opportunity to share your work with accredited art and design programs around the country.
KU Design Symposium Lecture Series
Each semester, students and area professionals are able to view groundbreaking work, explore provocative ideas, and learn from the practitioners who are expanding what is possible through art, design, and creative action. Lectures are free and open to the public.
KU Design Week
KU Design Week aims to promote interdisciplinary design thinking to KU students and beyond through lectures, activities, and events. Design Week is coordinated entirely by KU Design students and is held annually.
